the reason i hate PRIVILEGE PLUS POWER for any type of -ism is because of tumblr

because women get away with thinking they cant be misogynistic ‘cause they automatically jump to calling each other fat hos and ugly cunts

because people of color think they cant be anti-semitic and make posts talking about OMG JEWS RUIN EVERYTHING

because people think its completely ok to respond to racism by making fun of someone’s disabilities or threatening violence or unleashing an entire army of people to harass them, justifying it with ‘well we experience it every day lol i cant believe you started crying after the 10th person told you to get raped’

like if you dont see any cognitive dissonance with white women like gender bitch saying things like ‘i hope that’s a sniper rifle laser’ when she sees other white women wearing bindis, then you need to get a reality check because your praxis is jacked

I see this less as a problem with the perfectly valid and correct “prejudice plus power”[1] notion and more of a problem with people failing to grasp the part of intersectionality where just because one is oppressed on one axis does not mean that they aren’t privileged along another.

Regardless of what one might think of a white woman saying the above thing — a discussion between white women I have no intention of entering — there’s something very different going on than what’s happening when a white man says it to a white woman, or if a white Christian woman were to say it to a white Jewish woman (to select only two examples).

White folks missing the point as usual.

No one is saying PoC can’t be rude, shitty, bigoted, assholes or douchebags. I swear that’s what Whites hear when they hear “racism=power + prejudice.” They hear that only Whites can be bad people.

What that equation means is that PoC don’t have the ability to make our bigotry a society-wide thing actively and passively enforced by all the major institutions of society and on both a macro and micro levels, NOT that PoC can’t ever be mean.*

And no matter how often this is explained to Whites, they stay not getting it or not trying to get it. Willful ignorance in order to hang onto White supremacy and privilege and shirk any responsibility or ownership of maintaining both.

*And even THAT is filtered through anti-PoC racist filters established and maintained in our (American) society.

There is a reason why I’m not too immersed in the MLP fandom and I don’t like most bronies and refuse to claim the title. They are full of cis white bros who are probably a part of MRAs. They are racist, sexist, ableist, cissexist, and probably stank. Like I know of only a handful of decent bronies. Like the size of the fandom is or the cute little confessions people submit about how MLP changed their life isn’t enough to erase the horrible shit hardcore bronies do. I’ve heard they’ve raised money for cancer and that’s all awesome, but they ain’t making me or anyone else feel less uncomfortable or unwelcome in the community. 

It’s a show for little girls.

It’s not for grown ass men who are perverts.

I’m all for creative expression with OTPs and canons. 

And if you want to draw sexualized ponies on your own time that’s fine.

Hell I have my pervy canons too, but dudes this show, the community, it’s not about you.

It’s about the little girls who were waiting for a show for them. Heck it’s even for little boys who want to know what friendship is about. 

Y’all really need to take yo bigoted bullshit away from the fandom. I don’t care if you don’t think Rarity would be Black because this that and the other. Like how is it ok for you to write sexual ass fan fiction and shit, but people can’t make ponies into humans of various races. 

Clearly, ya’ll ain’t in it for real reasons. Y’all clearly haven’t learned anything from the show and it’s message. Because being racist, sexist, ableist, and cissexist isn’t being a friendly person. That shit ain’t magic at all. It’s disgusting.
